What To Expect When...

What To Expect When You Are Expecting
That's right!!! We are THRILLED to finally announce that we are expecting baby #4!

Due to arrive June 17, 2014 and currently 12 weeks 3 days! The baby and I are both doing awesome!!

(Yes, this was planned. No we are not crazy!)

On October 8th, at exactly 4 weeks I took a dollar store pregnancy test after my morning run. I thought it was negative but then did a double take at the the faintest possibility of a line. After much debate I decided to retest with a FRER (First Response Early Response) and it was obviously positive within 3-5 seconds!!
With all 3 pregnancies Cody knew when I was testing and was there to read the results with me. This time I wanted to surprise him with the news!!
Apparently, I should not have done a "Bun in the Oven" for my HUNGRY husband who thought I had forgotten the hamburger meat :)

**I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do since I'm almost through the 1st trimester so pardon the long post below!!

3 Weeks: Had a lot of round ligament pain (which I only get while pregnant) & I hadn't even tested yet
4 Weeks: I was dizzy on my morning run the day I tested & dizzy thru the next day. Round ligament pain continued.
5 Weeks: Gagged once when Scarlett threw up and had to drink Ginger Ale.
6 Weeks: A lot of fatigue thanks to thyroid levels being off again. Total weight gain: 0lbs

7 Weeks: Hungry & bloated (not a good combo)
Bloat @ 7w2d on Halloween
8 Weeks: Started waking up at night to pee as my uterus and bladder fight for space. Total weight gain: 3lbs

You can see the eye and arm buds!
9 Weeks: Dreamed it was a GIRL & we announced her name to family in the delivery room. Total weight gain: 3.5-4lbs

10 Weeks: Experiencing pressure so took a running break this week. Vivid dreams. Gagged 2x while trying to swallow down Milk of Mag (that stuff is nasty) Total weight gain: 4lbs

Proving how much the bloat fluctuates, here is me at 9w6d with post-hot dog bloating vs. the very next morning at 10 weeks almost "deflated".

11 Weeks: We told our girls about the baby! And our parents on Thanksgiving! Total weight gain: 3lbs

Reese didn't believe me that I was pregnant because she couldn't see the big belly (you can see her eyeing my stomach)

Reese got to announce it on Thanksgiving to our family by saying "I'm thankful for the baby in Mommy's tummy" after our meal!

12 Weeks: Thyroid labs off even more (TSH now over 6). Announcing to family & friends this week!  Total weight gain: 2.5lbs (met my goal of less weight gain at this point compared to last pregnancy, which was 5-6lbs)

We were referred back to the MFM (maternal fetal medicine Dr.) for precautionary reasons since Scarlett had a 2 vessel cord. We went Wednesday at 12w1d for the nuchal Translucency (NT) screening and genetic blood work. The NT measurement was awesome and the blood work was perfect! It was too early to tell how many vessels the cord was but we go back for the anatomy scan at 18 weeks.

12w1d measuring 12w5d due to a 13w1d head!

The baby was very active - kicking and wiggling all over. I saw it open and close it's mouth. It kept both legs completely stretched out the entire time.

Reese has said boy since she found out because she doesn't have a brother. However, once she saw this picture she said she could see eyelashes so it must be a girl! Emma is consistent with it being a sister and Scarlett just says whatever they say :)

Reese's name suggestions:
Girl- Cherry, Diamond, Flower, Cupcake, Princess
Boy- Luke (go figure. It's her little boyfriend down the street!)

I feel amazing this pregnancy! I never even took Zofran, which I did with all 3 girls. I am still running 2x/week and plan to continue as long as my body will let me. I am really proud of only gaining 2-2.5lbs at this point.

We feel so blessed that this baby is growing and healthy and we can't wait for this little one to join our family next summer!

Congrats!!! I am so happy when people plan big, wonderful families! The best gift you can give your kids are siblings. Your girls were very cute in the video. Scarlett's smile is adorbs! And, OMG, your oven is so clean. Puts mine to shame.

I am due June 13 with #3. Can't wait till this first trimester is DONE.

Also, you should remove the captcha from your comment box. I think I had to do 20 of them!
