21 Weeks!!

We are starting to make a lot of progress on little Reese's nursery!! We have the furniture set up and we received the baby bedding just this week!! We are anxious to start painting her room very soon! Here are some picts of the furniture and bedding:

My 21 Week Belly

During Week 21: Reese is now as long as a large banana (about 7-10.5 inches long) and approximately 11 ounces in weight. She is now swallowing amniotic fluid everyday for nutrition and hydration and can even taste the foods I have eaten. That is because amniotic fluid differs from day to day depending on what I have eaten :o) Her arms and legs are finally in proportion, neurons are now connected between the brain and muscles, and cartilage throughout the body is turning into bone. This means her kicks will be much more coordinated :o)

OB Appt

I had my Ob appointment today and I have only gained 5 pounds total. I am shocked to have made it this far with only a 5 pound weight gain!!! The doctor said it is really good. Reese's heartbeat was strong on the doppler :o) I go back in a month for another check up and will have my glucose tolerance test then. Hopefully my body can tolerate all these sweets I have been craving!!!!

20 Weeks!!!

Holy Cow!! I am officially at the half way point in my pregnancy, only 20 more weeks to go!! I am still feeling great!! I have an OB appt. tomorrow for a check up, I am eager to see how much weight I have gained. I am starting to feel her move around a little more now, she likes to kick me when I lay down to sleep :o) We are so excited to have the nursery furniture in the room and assembled!!! It looks beautiful! All we need now is baby Reese ;o)

My Birthday present from Cody was a wonderful diaper bag!!!

During Week 20: Reese is now the size of a small cantelope. She is approx. 10 ounces and about 6 1/2-10 inches long. Her uterus is fully formed and her ovaries are holding about 7 million primitive eggs. She has plenty of room for twisting, turning, kicking, punching, and even a somersault!

19 Weeks!!

I can't believe I am already 19 weeks!! Only 21 more weeks to go!!!! My belly is about to really start growing this next month :o) We were supposed to pick up the baby furniture this weekend in Houston, but I don't know if we can due to hurricaine Ike. I will call tomorrow to find out. This week Cody and I are turning the big 26!!!

During Week 19: Reese is now measuring 6 inches long and weighs about half a pound! She is the size of a large mango :o) She is covered with cheesy vernix, a greasy white ptotective substance that protects her skin from the amniotic fluid. Without the protection, she'd look very wrinkled at birth ;)

18 Weeks!!

I am getting so excited! Cody says I am finally starting to look pregnant :o) We have been busy trying to plan out the nursery, pick out paint colors, bedding, etc. Our baby girl is also starting to get quite the clothes collection too :o)

During Week 18: Reese is now 5 1/2-6 inches long, about the size of a sweet potatoe. She will be mastering yawning and hiccupping this week. Her hair is growing and her reproductive organs are developing.

17 Weeks!!

We are now onto week 17 already! I think I am finally starting to show and I can't wait for my belly to "pop" out! I have only gained 1 pound back from the 1.5 that I lost, so I am still where I started pre-pregnancy in weight. Cody got to feel baby Reese move for the 1st time last night, what a moment!!!

We are still trying to decide on a middle name, so please vote on the link that is at the top right of this page :o) If you have other suggestions, we are definately open to them!

During Week 17: She is now 5 to 5.5 inches long and about 5 oz., about the size of your palm or an onion! Body fat is begining to form and the skin is still transparent. This week she will be practicing swallowing and sucking. Her heart rate is now regulated by her brain instead of the spontaneous beats.
