Father's Day Tie Craft

The girls had a lot of fun making Daddy ties for Father's Day! I think they are so cute and will be precious keepsakes throughout the years!

1. Before nap the girls colored them with Do A Dot Art Markers
2. During nap I cut out all the pieces
3. After nap they each glued the pieces onto the tie
4. I laminated the ties and cut them out

I think it is neat to see how each girl has their own personality and artistic features. Reese was so meticulous about having her stripes match up and fit perfectly onto the tie. Emma made sure she used every accessory and Scarlett was just happy with the markers :)

I really think Cody enjoyed this Father's Day craft!

Sand Painting Activity

Today we went outside for "sand painting" as part of our June lesson. It touches both on the summer aspect of sand and texture at the same time for our "touch" sense.

*Unfortunately, I didn't realize the settings got messed up on my camera until after I took these. I tried to recover them the best I could but they are still badly over exposed - sorry. 

Step 1: Squirt massive amounts of glue all over the paper & Step 2: Sprinkle handfuls of sand over the glue!

Step 3: Dump excess sand back into the bucket

 Step 4: Admire masterpiece!

Texture Collage

This week we are learning "touch" as one of our 5 senses. The girls had a lot of fun making these texture collages. I honestly didn't know what materials I was using for this until an hour before we did it. I went through my stash and found a variety of textures. I went ahead and printed the descriptions on the cardstock before we started the activity.

I gave each girl a pile of textures and said "which one feels soft & fluffy?" etc until we got through them all. They glued them on with very minimal help (mainly just Scarlett).

Materials I used: 
Soft & Fluffy- furry fabric scraps
Wrinkley - crepe streamer
Smooth & Squishy - foam
Bumpy - twisty ties (unseparated)
Rough - glittered foam (could have used sandpaper ...this was prettier)
Feathery - piece of feather boa

Airplane Crafts

I didn't plan on blogging this but I just love how this art turned out from today!

I wasn't sure what I was going to write in the clouds (even when I wrote my last post) but then it dawned on me to write the new song I taught them today! In case you missed it...

Here are the girls' foam airplanes! They really loved picking out the "glitter" for their planes. (Scarlett ripped her plane apart before she even got started).

Emma is learning about the number 9 this week. (All my girls made these but I made sure Emma ended up with 9 and she had to count them out). 

I really like Twisty Noodle for coloring pages because you can control what the words say at the top of the page!
