2 Months Pregnant!!

Wow! I can't believe I am already 2 months pregnant!! The nausea is still an issue and seems to be occuring after I take my prenatal vitamins, so I may ask for a different kind at my next visit.

During Week 8: The baby is now the size of a raspberry! My uterus has grown from the normal size of a fist to now the size of a large grapefruit. The earlobes are fully visible now. The baby has tiny fingers and toes, although still may be webbed. The lips, nose, eyelids and elbows are all forming this week! Best of all, the baby is making spontaneous movements this week (too tiny to feel)!!

7 Weeks Today!!!

We are moving right along, only 33 more weeks to go!! I can't believe how fast it is already going. This time next week I will be 2 months pregnant already! So far I am still doing well. No real weight gain yet, but my body is changing. I had a very bad spell of nausea and had to leave work I felt so bad! I called the office the next morning and got a prescription for Zofran, my new best friend!! I only had to take one so far and it seems to have knocked out the nausea. I have discovered that Ginger Ale also helps to settle my stomach pretty well.

During Week 7: The baby's brain, bladder, tongue and esophagus are all developing and transforming, while his eyes are moving to the front of the face and his tiny eyelids are forming. The bones of his tiny limbs have started to form and all of your baby's major organs - heart, intestines, kidneys, liver, lungs and pancreas -- are forming and growing. The fingers and toes are starting to form! Both the hand plates and the genital tubercle are present this week, but you can't tell whether it's a boy or a girl by sight at this point. Nasal pits are also forming. In your womb, your baby has already become active swimming around inside the amniotic sac and kicking. However, as he's much too small and well-cushioned by the uterus and the new amniotic fluid you won't be able to feel him yet.

Our 1st Appointment/Ultrasound!!

After being very anxious and not able to sleep last night, we finally got to see the OB today :o) He did a bunch of bloodwork and an ultrasound. Cody took a video of it so watch closely!! The distinct round cirlce is the yolk sac and the little peanut attached to it at the top is the baby!! You will see some flickering, which is the heartbeat! If you listen closely, the sono tech turns on the sound. The heartrate was 101, which is normal this early on according to the sono tech.

Enjoy!!!

6 Weeks Today!!

I am 6 weeks today, only 34 more to go :o) So far, I am still feeling great!! A few episodes of nausea yesterday, but it only lasted a few minutes and was gone...thank goodness! I am starting to get very anxious for my 1st appointment on Wednesday. I really hope he will do an ultrasound so we can see if everything is on track. We should be able to see a heartbeat during the ultrasound!!

During Week 6: The heartbeat (aka: blood circulation) is now established! The arms and legs are forming. The eyes, inner ear and larynx are all starting to form. The lining of the placenta begins developing but the placenta will not take over production of the hormones until about week 12.

Woohoo!!

Last night at work I received this wonderful gift basket and a balloon from a good friend!! I was so excited about it I read 1/2 of the Belly Laughs book that night :o) The motherhood journal is very nice and I can't wait to start writing in it. Oh, and I can't forget about the book of "virgin cocktails" to get me through the next 8 months!! Thank You Meredith!!

5 Weeks Today!!

Woohoo! I am 5 weeks exactly today!! I am feeling great and no morning sickness yet...keeping my fingers crossed :o) The prescription prenatal vitamins don't seem to be making me sick, which is wonderful! I am starting to get super tired, not sleeping well and my bladder seems to be shrinking! The bloat has definately set in.

During week 5: The baby is the size of an apple or orange seed now. The vocal cords are forming and the tiny heart (size of a poppyseed) is forming and will begin beating and circulating blood this week!! The kidney, liver, stomach and nervous, circulatory and digestive systems are also staring to form!

We're Pregnant!!!

Cody & I are so thrilled to be pregnant with baby #1!! I am 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant, making my estimated due date February 9, 2009. I started taking prescription prenatal vitamins today and so far I have held them down :o) I have been taking over the counter prenatals for 1 year already!! We had been trying to get pregnant since the end of September in 2007 and in January I has diagnosed with hypothyroid-preventing me from getting pregnant. Then in February I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's (an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid). In March my thyroid was finally under control and in May we concieved with the help of Clomid :o)

Lab Results So Far:

Beta HCG @ 11 days post ovulation = 15
Progesterone Level @ 11 days post ovulation = 35!! A great number :o)
Beta HCG @ 14 days post ovulation = 89!!! Officially 4 weeks pregnant!!!

My first OBGYN appointment is June 18th and we can't wait! Hopefully we will get our 1st sono then so we can see our "little peanut" for the 1st time!!!
