Georgia's 1 Year Well Check

This morning Georgia had her 1 year well check.

Weight: 18 lbs 14oz (35%)
Height: 29 inches (42%)
Head Circumference: 19 inches (99%)

I knew it would involve vaccines & a finger prick for a hemoglobin check. She got 4 vaccines today, including the live virus MMR & Varicella. Praying she doesn't react the way Emma reacted to hers!

Her hemoglobin was low at 9.5 so we get to start daily iron supplements. I'm not surprised, my other girls have gone through this too.

She also had a spot vision test and passed :)

I had a thorough conversation with our pediatrician about the GI Specialist's recommendation for toddler formula once weaned. She was in agreement that I could continue on the almond milk and focus on getting Georgia her essential oils and fats through table foods. If she is having a weight issue at her 15mo well check, then she will suggest adding on the toddler formula to supplement.

Georgia Rae - 1 Year Old! {Cake Smash}

June 12, 2015 - Georgia turned ONE year old!

She woke up to sprinkled pancakes! She had no idea why we were singing to her but she loved it!

I took Georgia's smash cake photos at home in her adorable outfit custom made by Sassafras Style.

 Eyes: Blue

Clothes: 18 months
Diapers: size 4 during day & size 5 at night
Weight: approx. 19-20 pounds

Nursing: 4x a day
Teething: 10 chompers and about to cut #11 & 12 any day now
Weaning: I will be dropping the dream feed as soon as the 2 molars cut. Then I will proceed to drop the nap time nursing session since it's right after lunch and she doesn't drink much. This will put us at 2 nursing sessions a day. Once we are settled with that I will drop another one until she is fully weaned!

Milestones: Georgia is pulling up on everything, transferring along objects, can stand without holding for 10 seconds, lets go of holding on by herself, and can take 1 step! She is also trying to stand up without pulling up on anything. I am really surprised she is trying to take a step before mastering standing up but this girl is on a mission!

She can drink through a straw, which I didn't know she could do until she drank from Reese's thermos with a straw spout. She has also learned how to "blow" and will blow when I say "hot". She is about to make the switch to a big girl car seat! Her newest trick is crawling on top of the dishwasher door and helping with dishes!

Solids: I have introduced peanut butter and she likes it! I wasn't worried about an allergy since we had allergy testing done already. She really likes the Dairy Free Greek Strawberry Yogurt and can eat the whole container! She gets so excited when I serve her peas & carrots and will eat them over anything else in front of her. She was also introduced to dairy free cake for her birthday!

She still appears to be left hand dominant.

Sleep: 1 nap a day and a 5:30-6:00pm bedtime. Dream feed is around 10:30pm and she sleeps all night until 7:30am.

She has started using a toddler travel pillow in her crib that she loves! She was consistently sleeping with her head on her crib bumper so I ordered monogrammed one for her birthday. When she opened it she immediately laid down on it and snuggled on it.

Playtime: Georgia loves balls and will throw one and then crawl and chase it. She also loves to be chased while crawling! She also loves to play with her babies, which is precious. She likes playing peek-a-boo! Georgia loves to pull out all the DVDs from the stand and frustrate mommy ;) She is definitely keeping those little feet busy!

Personality: Georgia is a ham now!!

She loves to be tickled and loves to laugh! She dances to music when we have it playing. She thinks learning how to stand and walk is funny! When she 1st wakes up and I turn the light on she covers her eyes because it is too bright and she smiles. She plays with herself in the mirror.
She found her own reflection!
Signs: "milk", "hi", "all done", "more", & "baby"
Don't worry, I got this!
Speech: "Mama", "Hi", "Up", "Dada", "Dog", "Uh Oh", and "all done". She has been doing 2 word sentences since last month (like "hi dog" & "all done"). I've heard her say "Emma" a few times now.

Concerns/Updates: She is doing well now that we are established with a dairy free diet. She takes a daily vitamin and I focus on getting healthy fats into her diet since she won't be doing whole milk. I am undecided on the GI Specialist's recommendation for toddler formula as a supplement to almond milk. I think she will be fine without it since she is a great eater. I will discuss this further at her 1 year well check with our pediatrician.

Next pediatrician appt. is this Thursday for her 1 year well check.

She had an amazing 1st Birthday Sprinkle Party, which I plan on posting separately. Thank you to everyone who went out of their way to help my little girl celebrate her big ONE!
The End!

Georgia Rae - 11 Months Old!

May 12, 2015 - Georgia turned ELEVEN months old!

Eyes: Blue

Clothes: 12 months, almost ready for 18 months
Diapers: size 4

Nursing: 5x a day + Almond Milk with meals
Weight: approx. 19 pounds
Teething: Partially cut #9 & 10 (on top), with #11 & 12 (on bottom) following right behind.

Solids: I have introduced a few new things that we have found dairy free: Silk Dairy Free Yogurt & Dairy Free American Cheese (found at Whole Foods). We also decided to start offering Almond Milk with meals. I thought it would have been more of a struggle getting her to drink it but she likes it! Now I'm worried she won't like cows milk when the time comes.

Milestones: She is standing while holding on and can stand a few seconds when she lets go.

Baby leg rolls!!!
She can walk very slowly using a doll stroller! The pediatrician said she may have a very short crawl period. Her vocabulary has really taken off over the past 2 weeks! She is also able to look for specific objects, such as "where's the elephant?' and she will look around until she finds it.

Sleep: Still on the same schedule of 1 nap a day and a 5:30pm bedtime. Dream feed is around 10:30pm and she sleeps all night until 6:15am to nurse. I put her back in her crib and she either lays there and talks until 7:30 or she falls back asleep.

Playtime: Georgia is all over the place now! She goes from room to room playing with her sisters. Georgia suddenly loves baby dolls! She hugs them, kisses them, tries to feed & rock them. She can play peek-a-boo, covering her own eyes.

Playing peek-a-boo with her dog

Personality: Her personality is really starting to come out!

Georgia actually thinks she can "out crawl" me! I can say "I'm going to get you" and she will start speed crawling and laughing hysterically. She also takes particular enjoyment in pushing the button on the CO2 monitor and making it siren. The sound literally makes me jump and she pushes it over and over again. Guess I need to move the monitor to a higher outlet!

Signs: "milk", "hi", "all done" and she's starting to sign "baby" & "more"
Speech: "Mama", "Hi", "Up", "Dada", "Dog", "Uh Oh", and "all done". She will even put 2 words together like "hi dog".

Concerns/Updates: Georgia is battling high fevers. Sunday morning she woke up sweaty but not hot and again after nap time she was drenched in sweat but not hot. Sunday night Georgia spiked a 104.2 fever. We gave her Motrin and a quick warm bath to bring her temp down. Monday morning she was 102.1 at 6:20am, I gave Tylenol & she went back to sleep. At 8am she was 103.3 so I gave Motrin too. I decided to take her into the pedi since the fever was so high and she had been fussy all week prior.

Her ears & throat looked fine so we agreed on a cath urine culture to rule out UTI/Pyelo infection due to her history. The urine culture came back negative at 48 hrs. Her fever finally broke but she has been sleeping excessively. All she wants to do is sleep. I decided to wake her up this morning after sleeping for 17 hours (waking twice to nurse only)! She wasn't happy I got her up and is back asleep again after eating a meal.

On another note. we have successfully continued to be dairy free. Georgia & I are completely restaurant free as well after a suspected dairy contamination back in March. Her most recent guaiac was negative for blood.

Her GI appointment actually got bumped up to May 21st instead of June!

I am planning on starting the weaning process once she gets over this current fever and these teeth have cut. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Pretty soon she will be walking and talking!!!

Stitch Fix Review {Fix #6}

 photo 126a24e5-3674-4e43-96da-8d821d793a3e.jpg
Stitch Fix #6 arrived and it looks like it had a rough trip from California!

For this fix I requested: No dry clean items, nursing friendly, an open cardigan with pockets, an anniversary outfit, no accessory unless they had the necklace I pinned. I mentioned we are having mid-80 degree days already.

I had yet another stylist this time and she did not read my preferences or feedback unfortunately.

The items I received were:
  • Market & Spruce Bri Knit Cardigan, size S ($48)
  • Margaret M Emer High Waisted Cropped Trouser, size SP ($98)
  • Pixley Bixby Bird Print Tab Sleeve Blouse, size S ($48)
  • Collective Concepts Lisette Dot Print Blouse, size SP ($64)
  • Bay to Baubles Rylan Double Layered Triangle Necklace, ($34)
Market & Spruce Bri Knit Cardigan ($48) - KEEP
Untitled #12894

I was disappointed by the lack of pockets like requested. However, this color was one of my favorites and the fabric was SUPER soft. I also liked the length of this cardigan.
This is so lightweight, mom friendly, and versatile! I decided to keep this one and apply my styling fee towards it.

Margaret M Emer High Waisted Cropped Trouser ($98) - RETURNED
Untitled #10297

I know a lot of Stitch Fix fans like Margaret M pants so I was curious when I realized I received some. However, I was disappointed they were petites since length is not really an issue for cropped pants.

I had 2 big issues with these:
#1 they are $98 for a pair of solid black capris! I would never get enough use out of these to justify $98 on them. I am a jeans & shorts fan with the occasional skirt or dress. Black dressy capris won't get much for me.

#2 they "bunched" all over the place! I wasn't sure if they were too tight or too big or both! I'm pretty sure they were too tight but going up a size would have meant more fabric for bunching. They felt like a glove but the fabric was thicker and not very breathable for TX summer heat.
I took several pictures of them with the other blouses I was sent in pictures below.

Pixley Bixby Bird Print Tab Sleeve Blouse ($48) - RETURNED
Untitled #8711

All I can say is this is NOT my style. It was oversized, boxy, and the print was geometric...abstract? I don't know exactly.
It had long & loose tab sleeves with a pearly button. I just felt old.
This top was boxy and not figure friendly. The arms were baggy, the shoulder was falling off exposing my bra strap, and I had tons of extra room down the side.
An old drowning bird. Sent back!

Collective Concepts Lisette Dot Print Blouse ($64)
Untitled #7339

I LOVED the colors and dot pattern on this when I saw it but was immediately frustrated when I saw it was a petite. I stated in a past fix "no petite tops". I even have it in my profile. The petite size made it too short for my liking in the front. I think I would have needed an XS (not petite) but still think it would have been too boxy for my liking.
Again, this is a boxy cut top with no fitting curve line for an hourglass figure.
I did really like the shoulder detail, the split neck and the interesting hidden buttons on it.
This was of course DRY CLEAN, which I have stated over and over and over again NO DRY CLEAN. I am a stay at home mom of 4 little girls and "mess" is part of my everyday life. I don't wear dry clean items!

Bay to Baubles Rylan Double Layered Triangle Necklace, ($34)- RETURNED
I was surprised when I saw I had received an accessory since I stated no accessory unless they found the delicate silver one I had pinned with 3 layered circles.
I am not a big accessory person. To me, less is more. I always wear my wedding rings & my diamond studs. I usually don't wear a necklace because the baby pulls on it. I have been wanting a long tassel necklace though.
I liked that this was silver and delicate. I also liked the layered look because I don't have any. However, the triangles were weird to me and my husband. The triangles come across as more modern/contemporary to me and don't flow with my round diamonds.
Here is the cardigan, necklace & cropped pants all together.

My total cost for this fix:
Cardigan $48 - $20 styling fee applied = $28 + $ 1.82 tax = $29.82
I still have credit from Christmas gift cards so my actual cost was $0!
