March PreK Lesson Plans

Preschool lessons are finally back! We took a much needed break after being overwhelmed with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Scarlett's 2nd Birthday Party, hosting a baby shower, & Reese's 5th Birthday Party all crammed into a few months. Preschool Followers: November

If you are looking for a November lesson plan, it just didn't get done yet. I have a list of excuses but that is life. I will make a November lesson and get it posted some time this week. So it will be an abbreviated month.

Take this time to catch up on any material or just have some fun with crafts.

**UPDATE: sick kiddo with croup. I'm not sure it's happening this month, sorry!

Learning Sight Words

We are making progress on sight words with Reese! Here is a video of sight words A-C (she also knows "cat" and I'm shocked that wasn't a card included in this set).


If you follow along, you know that we are doing a letter each week. The basic alphabet for Emma (age 3) and sight words for each letter for Reese (age 4.5). We did sight words for the letter A in 1 week & sight words for the letter B in the 2nd week. We took 2 weeks off for birthday celebrations and started back this week with letter C sight words. I have her keep reviewing the previous words for repetition.

Sometimes I ask her to close her eyes and spell the word out loud. This is a much harder concept but she does great! I want to start getting her to spell/write the colors without these cards (since these cards are written in color of the word - meaning blue is written in all blue). I want to make sure she is really learning the word and not just looking at the color of it.

October PreK Lesson Plans

I am sorry these are so last minute! I am not superwoman by any means and life just happens :) The 1st two weeks of Oct will be "catch up" for us as far as letter of the week, sight words and numbers. I am going ahead and moving on with the weekly themes. Please feel free to find your own material if your kiddos don't need the review/catch up time. Also, keep checking back because I tend to come back and add more links once I find something I like.

Preschool Followers for October

I will try my best to get an October calendar and plans up this weekend. The 3 birthdays in a row and family visiting really put a delay on schooling and now we are 2 weeks behind.

Stay tuned but feel free to find some material on your own so that you aren't relying on me ;)

Little Smarties!

Preschool has become a much smoother process at home now that the girls know the routine and my expectations. Sometimes I don't feel like much is being learned but the videos are proof they are, in fact, learning!

Reese has learned 3 more sight words to add to her list!


She has also learned how to skip count by 2's and 5's on top of counting by 10's!


Emma can now say all 12 months of the year! (she also knows days of the week)


Emma has developed into a great artist and loves to color! She stays in the lines and gets very upset if she messes up or the colors are wrong.

Scarlett is able to identify all her body parts!


She can also count to five, fold her hands for prayer & say "Thank you Father"..."Amen". She is obsessed with trying to dress herself (even if she's already dressed). She now sits and pays attention to our morning songs and even tries to do any action movements associated with the song.

I am one proud Mom!!!
