Reese & Emma

I feel like I haven't written about Reese or Emma lately and want to make sure I get an update posted before Scarlett arrives!

The girls have been having a lot of fun together lately :) Bath time is always amusing around here!!

At 14 months Emma is FINALLY walking!!
She's been taking a few steps for months now but she is actually trying to walk now more than crawl. Here are a few videos I caught on my phone (I need to get some video on the actual video camera).

Reese
  • is completely potty trained now with no accidents (except we do still diaper during sleep). I don't expect her to make it through the night yet.
  • is the best at coloring in her class!
  • favorite color is PURPLE
  • is so excited for Scarlett to be here! She has started saying Scarlett is in her tummy and is kicking her ;)
  • loves chocolate (even dark chocolate like her mom!)
  • She has requested a "purple zebra" birthday party
  • is a "daddy's girl"!!
Emma
  • LOVES dogs!! She sticks her tongue out and pants and she tries to bark like them
  • She is trying to say "duck", "nana", "water"
  • Knows her body parts: "ear", "nose", "mouth", "belly button" and "feet"
  • is the best for her age at "dot art" in her class!
  • Strongly dislikes milk
  • LOVES to eat almost anything
  • has finally started walking!
  • is a "mommy's girl"!!

37 Weeks!!!

Finally Full Term!!!! I feel so much more comfortable knowing I made it to full term. The killer headaches are finally gone! I'll get me lab results at my OB appt on Monday. I do still get clammy/weak/dizzy almost on a daily basis but at least my head doesn't feel like it's going to explode.

Scarlett is still very active at this point. She likes to stretch her legs straight out into my left side and I can distinctly feel her feet :)

She's the size of a watermelon!

Tonight is a FULL MOON =)

Headaches

Yesterday morning I woke up with a KILLER headache and I just couldn't get it to go away all day long. I took 2 doses of extra strength tylenol, took a nap, monitored my blood pressure, drank water and nothing seemed to help. This morning I woke up with the same headache :( I immediately took a dose of tylenol and started drinking as much water as I could tolerate. At noon I got extremely dizzy and couldn't leave the bed. There was no point in calling the OB b/c I couldn't even drive myself the way I was feeling. I took more tylenol and then took a nap. When I woke up I was having sharp stabbing pains in head and it felt like it was going to explode. The dizziness had passed so I called my OB and they said to come in for blood pressure check. They had me sit in a dimmed room for about 10 minutes before taking my sitting blood pressure and it was 160/100!! The nurse said she didn't even want to write it down. After laying on my side for a few minutes she took it again: 120/80. My OB came in to talk to me and he ordered PIH labs (pregnancy induced hypertension) and a 24 hour urine collection for protein. He said if my labs are abnormal then "that's it" (time to deliver). My urine dip in the office was negative for protein so I am praying these labs come back fine. He prescribed me some stronger medication to get through this headache.

Scarlett has been very active so I am reassured about her. I would like to keep her growing for a bit longer though!

36.2 Week Appt

~Christmas Belly at 36 weeks~

This morning I had an OB appt with an internal exam and GBS swab collected. I am not dilated but getting very soft and she is still HEAD DOWN! I've gained 34# so far which I am not proud of. I gained a total of 27# with Reese and 33# with Emma. They say Scarlett is going to be bigger though. We talked to the OB about our cord blood/tissue kit since he didn't know we recently got approved for the kit. If I want an induction, it will be after I hit the 39 week mark (which is Christmas Eve). So Scarlett won't be here before Christmas unless she decides it's time on her own :)

Ideally, I'd prefer sooner (around 38 weeks) rather than later only because my class starts Jan 3rd. I did end up registering for a didactic course without clinicals (this will lighten my load my last quarter when I have the capstone course). I know I can manage an online class with a newborn...been there, done that ;) I am officially DONE with this quarter of school.

Scarlett, we are all waiting for you!!!

Santa Visit 2011

This year Reese was SUPER excited to go see Santa!! She said she was going to tell him she would like "purple toys" for Christmas and the Emma would like "purple toys too". The whole ride she asked "where's Santa?"

I thought maybe this is the year with no tears, BUT then she had to sit in his lap...

Emma only started crying because Reese was but then Emma stopped. She really didn't look at him much- she just knew we weren't holding her. Maybe next year we will have some smiles ;)

36 Weeks!!

Time is really flying by now!
I am officially 9 months pregnant and feel like Scarlett is ready to come at any time. She has been SO active this past week...I tell Cody she's having karate class in there!! He watched my belly dance around last night and was amazed at her movements. She should be getting close to 7 pounds. Monday I start seeing my OB weekly and the exams begin for dilation.
