Emma, Emma, Emma...

is sick again

She woke up hot from a nap yesterday and I waited over an hour to take her temp thinking she just got overheated while sleeping.  Unfortunately, that was not the case:

4pm: 102.6 - Motrin
6pm: bath
10pm: 101.1 - Tylenol
4:15am: 105.2 - Motrin & bath
Noon: 104.1 - Tylenol & bath

So off to the pediatrician we go...
This is how she acts at the Dr's office...

...and this is how she acts at home (snuggling with Scarlett)

Diagnosis: A Double Ear Infection with lots of fluid and pus on both ears. Rx: Omnicef x 10 days. It's unusual to spike that big of a fever with an ear infection so she looked in her throat (which was red but no signs of the coxsackie virus). If she still battling fever on Wednesday, I'm supposed to call her back.

Poor baby hasn't had a drop of milk today. She just keeps refusing it but is drinking water well. Get well soon Emma!!

Scarlett's Bow Board

Bring on the bows!
Here is the bow board I made Scarlett (I've made one for all our girls to match their rooms). It took me 3 attempts to get the color of the red paint right but I finally got it!

Bows for football season, Halloween & Christmas...what else could she need?!

29 Weeks!!

Only 11 more weeks to go! I can't believe we are almost in the countdown stretch! Scarlett has been really active and sometimes her movements actually catch me off guard!

Every single day Reese says "Scarlett's coming!" She is SO excited this time around :)

29 Weeks with Scarlett...Size of a winter squash
(you might notice we painted our bathroom grey to match the stonework)

Reese got all excited when I washed the car seat and reassembled it. She said she was going to "rock" Scarlett and began to show me how while singing "Rock-A-Bye-Baby"! She is SO excited so we put Scarlett's teddy bear in there ;)

Still to come: curtains, her bow board is almost done, & wall letters

Stop, Drop, & Roll!!

Yesterday Reese shocked us when she said "stop, drop & roll"! I said "what?!" confused on how she knew that already. She said "fire safety mom". I smiled so big, had her show Cody then took a quick video with my phone (sorry for quality...it was 8pm in Scarlett's nursery and the lighting is bad).

I am AMAZED at what young kids can learn and so THANKFUL she goes to a great school that is teaching her these life lessons!

28 Weeks (aka 7 Months)!

Woohoo! 28 weeks and moving right along :) I can't believe after my next monthly OB visit I will be going every 2 weeks. I'm feeling good and still having braxton hicks contractions almost daily. This past week I have started walking again outside pushing the double stroller in the evening. The weather has been so nice recently.

Scarlett's furniture will be here either Tuesday or Wednesday (have to wait for the call from the delivery company).

Scarlett Update

Yesterday we had our monthly growth ultrasound. Despite having to wait 1.5 hours to be seen everything looks GREAT with Scarlett!! She is now head down (vertex) and had both hands and one foot up by her face. Its amazing the positions these babies can get into. She is measuring an estimated 2lbs 12oz (which is bigger than I had guessed). At 27.4 weeks her cerebellum (brain) was measuring 30 weeks, her head measuring at 29 weeks, her abdomen at 29 weeks and her legs at 27-28 weeks. Her heart is looked at carefully each time and everything still looks perfect (4 chambers, left ventricular outflow, and right ventricular outflow). Both kidneys are functioning and my amniotic fluid index (AFI) is great! I go back in 1 month for another growth check. I'd post a picture but they didn't turn out very good since she had her face buried into a "corner".

As we monitor her growth on a monthly basis, I told Cody "watch, this will end up being our biggest baby yet"! Cody strongly believes little miss Scarlett will arrive before Christmas day. If that's the case...I need to start tracking down a matching stocking ;)

Stay tuned, her furniture gets delivered next week!!!!!
